Professionally 2012 was a fantastic year, exhibiting in some great places, working with fantastic people and learning all the way. In February I exhibited my first solo exhibition 'Persistence of Vision' in The Joinery , in May I showed my work in Catalyst along with Emmanuel Rohss, in July I exhibited in The Crawford Gallery along with David Upton, Aine Saunders and Tom Dalton (curated by Anna Crudge and Stephen Mc Glynn) and finally exhibiting in Soma Contemporary. Looking back Ive had such a great time and learned a huge amount, I am very thankful to have worked with such great people and hope to keep in contact with most of them.
In the next several months I shall develop a new body of work that is shaping up to be both ambitious and far beyond anything I have done thus far. (Nervous excitement!!)

Today I collected my cut perspex which was milled at Access Plastics. These are pieces cut using a large industrial CNC, I found the employees  very helpful. James was especially informative and even gave me a bit of professional glue for assembly, he also told me one could use chloroform to connect the pieces but as I intend to continue living for a few more years I shall avoid that.

Over the last few months I have used specialist fabricators to make certain elements of my artworks. I find this approach very fruitful and I am learning much from this logistical role. Currently I am working with a plastics company to cut individual parts for a small piece and a stainless steel specialist to create a custom base for one of my sculptures. Once the funding and idea is there I find the professionals involved are very helpful even giving me a tour of their facility and machines.

Today I bought my three female rats. I have read that rats are highly intelligent so I am really looking forward to exploring their intelligence with tasks and training.
