Interesting thing I came across. Back in WWI the British Navy employed an Artist Norman Wilkinson to design patterns that would confuse the enemy's perception of your ships speed,direction and distance. It consisted of a complex pattern of geometric shapes in contrasting colours, interrupting and intersecting each other.
The technique was called Dazzle camouflage but commonly known as Razzle Dazzle.
